Sankat Mochan Mandir situated on the banks of river Assi is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. In addition, it is one of the oldest Hindu sanctuaries in Varanasi, which is visited by thousands of pilgrims every day. According to mythology, the Sankat Mochan temple is established at the place where the great saint Shri Tulsidas had a vision of Hanuman ji.
